Loss is an inherent part of life. To be human is to love, and to love is to be vulnerable to the reality that the things around us will change, we will lose people we love and everything cannot stay the same. Another truth about loss is that when we aren’t ready for it, which we almost always aren’t, it leaves our nervous system in tatters. Grief has many ripple effects on our lives, and as a massage therapist I am passionate about supporting grieving clients with the way grief physically takes a toll on the body.
Common physical effects of grief:
Jaw tension
Headaches
Loss of sleep
Loss or increase of appetite
Muscle tension
Increased sensitivity to sound, light, or touch
As a Grief Massage therapist I am not interested in fixing you, in trying to make your grief smaller or “go away” faster.
I am interested in providing a space for you to show up as you are, without social masks or pressures.
I provide Grief Massage as a tool for relaxation, grounding, and providing a space to safely and gently return to your body.
